Begun in 1960 as
Willis Engineering by Robert C. Willis, our company initially provided
Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical consulting engineering services to the local
area. As time progressed, the project design area increased to include all
of Alabama, Mississippi, portions of Tennessee, and various locations
throughout the United States. Specialties have included Industrial,
Commercial, Academic, Religious, and Healthcare building design.
In
1987, the company was changed to a Corporation with the name changing to Willis
Engineering, P.C. In 1995, the firm
added Jason B. Lenz as the Chief Engineer in charge of the Electrical
Division. Robert Willis remained in charge of the Mechanical Division. In 1998, Mr. Lenz purchased Willis
Engineering, P.C. and changed the name to Shoals Engineering, P.C. On July 31, 2001, Mr. Willis retired from
Shoals Engineering. Since that date,
the firm has focused entirely on electrical systems design. We are currently licensed to perform
engineering design in Alabama and Tennessee.
